How to use Claude Code from your phone

You left a long task running and you have to head out. Or you're on the couch and the fix for that bug just came to you. The question asks itself: can I follow my Claude Code session from my phone? The short answer is yes — but not the way you'd expect, because Claude Code has no official mobile app. These are the three real routes, with the good and the bad of each.

Option 1: SSH into your computer (the DIY route)

Install an SSH server on your computer, a terminal app on your phone (Termius, JuiceSSH) and connect remotely to the very same console. Add tmux and the session survives disconnections.

• Pros: free, total control, it's your actual terminal.
• Cons: technical setup (IP, ports, keys), typing commands on a touchscreen is misery, and away from your WiFi you need a VPN or exposed ports — with the security risks that carries.

Verdict: works for emergencies if you already live in SSH. As a daily flow, it wears you down.

Option 2: the Claude app (not the same thing, but useful)

The official Claude app (iOS/Android) lets you chat with the model and even launch cloud coding tasks, depending on your plan. But it is not your local Claude Code: it can't see the projects on your machine, doesn't continue the session you left open on your desktop, and doesn't share its context or memory.

• Pros: official, zero setup, great for one-off questions.
• Cons: disconnected from your local environment; what you do there doesn't continue what you were working on.

Verdict: an excellent complement, but it doesn't answer the original question.

Option 3: Claude Station (real desktop ↔ phone continuity)

Claude Station is a desktop interface for Claude Code with built-in mobile access: turn it on, scan a QR code, and your phone opens the same session in the browser — through a private, stable, encrypted (HTTPS) address, without touching your router or configuring anything.

• The same conversation, live: what you type on the phone shows up on the desktop and vice versa, synced instantly. You pick up exactly where you left off.
• Voice dictation: on the phone you talk instead of typing; Claude transcribes and executes.
• Your real projects: it's your local Claude Code working on your disk, not a separate cloud session.
• Cons: requires Claude Station's Pro plan (30-day free trial) and your computer stays on — that's where the work happens.

Verdict: if what you need is real continuity with your projects, it's the only one of the three built exactly for that.
